The Audubon Bird Call is a classic birdwatcher’s tool. Invented by Roger Eddy over 60 years ago, the Audubon Bird Call is still handmade in Rhode Island from birch wood and a cast zinc plug. Twisting the wooden cylinder against the zinc plug produces a variety of sounds similar to a songbird’s tweeting. The call does not produce specific birdcalls, but rather a generic birdsong that most birds will recognize. With reasonable care, and periodic re-application of rosin from the included capsule, the call will last a lifetime.
